No HAL pilot is getting $620,000 from ALPA.

FO instructors might get that. At 90 hours PLUS recall, PLUS instructor override.

How much less money should full time ALPA pilots get? Less than instructors? Less than the average line holder in their category? Less than a reserve pilot?

That’s a great question. I’d think average line value plus whatever extra days they work at the same hours per day as a line pilot would make sense. What do you think?

That seems fair. Also keep in mind we have had a former MEC chairman jump sides to be a chief pilot. It doesn’t hurt to keep our people paid and on the pilots side of the table.

They reigned that in. I don't think they do much recall now. They just play swapsies with instructor schedules.

I had three different instructors for CQ a few months ago. All three of them were on recall. I was a normally scheduled crew for sim. Also, one of the checkairmen that was in there at the same time doing a checkride was talking about how he was on track to easily break $700k for the year.

Pretty sure there used to be limits on union workers taking management positions because of that guy.

Don't worry. Pilot pay will be minimum 5 hours per day in 2025. Along with a better scheduling software. If the company isn't bankrupt by then.

If I injure myself, do I have the opportunity to stay home for a few months, not burn any sick or vacation time, and do office style work and zoom meetings? For $400/hr?

If you had previously spent countless hours of unpaid volunteer work to become an invaluable subject matter expert then you might have the opportunity of getting paid a full time pilot salary to spend most of your time awake doing full time work.

If it was that easy then you would be doing it… But you’re not.
