If you want a real airline job, go elsewhere. Hawaiian is finally learning that if you don't offer tickets and rooms you won't get good candidates. The rest of the industry has known this for years. A good place to get your feet wet, but don't intend on staying. Our management is decades behind some of the enlightened management we see on the mainland. Skip this bump in the road if you can. Being unable to manage effectively, this group of clowns will always ask for more, pay you less and conveniently forget you're living in one of the most expensive places in America.

The pilot group keeps losing leverage for a new contract because a lot guys continue to accept extra flying on days off..

Wow - that sounds exhausting. Thank goodness you fly in paradise....

Just to put the recall flying at HAL into perspective, in the last 30 days over 50 different pilots accepted recall with repeat offenders (about 650 active pilots). This is all happening during contract negotiations! This is why HAL will never have an industry leading contract and why work rules will continue to be substandard. I hate to say it but HAL is merely a stepping stone to get to bigger and better things.
