Deleted posts are not actually deleted - they still exist for the administration but do not appear for regular membership. Both members and mods have deleted posts which are counted the same way.

If a thread has a lot of deleted posts then it creates the same problem you're experiencing.

Unfortunately there's no way we can really fix it except to suggest a new thread be made.

Actually, I represent IB here (as well as answering that email), and my job is to pass on concerns to the techs directly.

However, before I can do that I need information so I can recreate the problem.

When you say the thread is not working properly, what exactly is wrong with it?

Bob says that there are too many redirects - what page is that happening on? Have you tried logging out and back in again to see if that helps?

I think it's high time for a new TSA thread. It still has redirect issue. I can't get to the last post at all, it just sits for minutes. If I go to post #1, I can't get to last post. The only way I can get there is to jump as far to the right as I can, and keep doing this until I get to page 107x, whatever it is on now. Takes about 10 clicks to get to the end of the thread.

Recommend a closure of that troublesome thread, please.

Default "too many redirects"

Both Safari and Firefox are giving me errors fairly frequently on multiple devices saying there are two many redirects.

Heads up!

Yes. Someone started a new TSA thread. Now the ASA/Expressjet one is doing the same thing. I thought it was happening due to the "ghost pages" out there due to "not-quite-deleted" posts that we cannot see. But if you are having the same problem, and can see those "hidden-but-not-deleted" posts, then perhaps my thought was wrong.

At any rate, it might be beneficial to close that thread and start a new one. If there is a way for you to start the new thread with say 10-20 pages from the old thread, that would be way swoopy cool!!

Brandi - Sometimes I get the "too many redirects" message, but most times, it simply won't load the page at all. When I click the "most recent" icon on most threads, my internet activity icon spins what I will call normally. When I click on the TSA (and now ASA/Xjet thread), the indicator goes nuts, spinning very quickly, and the page never loads. I can go to page 1, and whatever higher page is selectable (but not LAST PAGE), I can keep clicking that until I eventually get to the last page in the thread.

This is happening using Safari and Chrome on an iPad (but chrome is just a Safari overlay, to be clear, not a true browser as on a computer). But it also happens on a Mac with both (true) browsers. Haven't tried it on a PC lately.

Sounds like the issue is with the thread itself. Can you provide links to the specific threads you are having issues with?

http://www.airlinepilotforums.com/re...sjet-1085.html

Note the page number above. When Safari gives me the "too many redirects" message and I examine the link, it ends on 1077. However, the thread is currently on page 1073. If I substitute 1075 for the 1077 or 1085 in the link above, it actually opens page 1073 and I can see posts.

Where is this happening? On a particular thread or place on the forum?

Someone recently started a new TSA thread, which solves the redirect problem, obviously, but it sucks that many valid posts will be lost if the problem is not resolved. Someone new to the site may try to go to LAST PAGE, it never opens, so they don't get to read the older posts in the previous thread.

Correcting the redirects error would be primo solution #1. Another option would be to create a new thread, and copy/paste about 20 pages worth of posts into it. Probably not easy to do using vBulletin, but perhaps a first post with a copy/paste of text body from the older messages might suffice.

Just some ideas...
