Seriously, did you believe that old story about oil being from dead dinosaurs?
If you're going to make a point, better not use wikipedia. You don't see writers quoting wikipedia for a reason.

Sinclair would not have been allowed to use the green dinosaur if it were not true.

Like all trumpian "truths," that can only be correctly described as a lie, for that is what it is.

Simply because trump says it does not make it so
.

Oh, I didn't think about that. So how about the flying red horse?

Don't be ridiculous. Flying horses are white.

The red is artistic license.

Besides: Horses are colorblind (mostly).

Back to the OP.

There is no pilot shortage.

A person with 5100hr TT, 4100hr 121 Time, 900Hrs 121PIC, a college degree and no training failures can't even get an interview at anything above a regional. Atlas, ABX, Southern, Allegiant, Spirit, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest and ATI wont even offer an interview. And all that after spending $$ on application review services and resume re-writes just make sure there wasn't some simple mistake that would get application denied.

So ya, no pilot shortage, just PR garbage to get highschool kids to get mom and dad to drop $$ on training (or if they pay for it themselves they get the distinct honor of student loan debt for the rest of their lives)

Do you just fly your line and go home? Any extracurriculars?

It probably is, at least the large shallow deposits which we use. But it's probably also possible for oil to form without biomass. In fact, you can do that for sure in a lab. Can it happen in the depth of the earth? Almost certainly. In enough quantity and in large enough deposits to be useful to us? Maybe not.

The ingredients and recipe are indisputable: hydrogen and carbon. The process is indisputable: heat and pressure (and time). The ingredients don't always have to come from dead plants.

But again... it doesn't really matter because the economically accessible oil deposits which have already been depleted are clearly not renewing themselves in our lifetimes.

Oil may actually be a renewable resource, but clearly not on the time-scale that we need.

Kind of like trees, renewable yes but it's not always practical to wait 70 years for the lumber to build your house.
