This is very well said and what frustrates me with the weeks and weeks of this thread. You can do A LOT if you really need to/want to. Not easy, not comfortable, not fun. The absolutes out of this guy's mouth are, quite frankly, depressing. No one is hiring, no one can survive on 47k... This is very similar to when I used to work with guys on diet/fitness plans. "I can't lose weight". We'd go grocery shopping and I'd watch what they'd throw in their cart - WTF!?! 😂. Similar vibes here.

The cost of the industry has a way of weeding out those who do not belong, and who are not willing to make the sacrifices necessary to succeed.

The lazy and unwilling need not apply.

He would have been very unhappy in the mid 90s when you needed 1500+TT and 500+ ME for the privilege of paying $10,000 for your own training ina 19 seat turboprop earning $13000 per year.

You either want the job enough to sacrifice for it, or you go do something else for a living. This is aviation and it’s always been this way.

The reprehensible among us were willing to pay for their training or buy their job. The rest did what ever they needed to do, taking jobs where they could be found, moving mulitple times to get the job, spending summers banner towing, winters instructing or turning wrenches, washing and waxing airplanes, doing night freight, towing banners, tossing jumpers, etc, and many worked more than one job.

That's not a bygone era, nor are such practices antiquated, or gone.

Trimming the finances to accommodate ones career isn't out of style either, however unknown it may be to the entitled (who may be blinded by expectations of grandeur).

Trim that cell bill, the cable or dish, forgo the boat and the BMW, drive something used: embrace the minivan.

Not able to make it on the wages offered? Scrub theater floors at night, or grocery store floors. Drive delivery. Pack parachutes. Do accounting. Write. Teach. Turn wrenches. Deliver phone books. Be a security guard. Make fast food. Do anything. I did all those things while flying full time, often doing two and three jobs. I've slept in my van, gone from one job to the other, done extra on the weekends, and worked around the clock to do whatever was needed to make things work, keep the family fed, and pay the bills. Tens of thousands of us have figured out a way, and those who are dedicated won't whine, they'll work.

Sweat equity. Invest now, while you can.

Which is exactly why this isn't my first career. I'm not going to live in poverty just to get to be able to fly an airplane. Now that I'm older and have responsiiblities and obligations, it's impossible for me to live in poverty in order to fly an airplane. I have a good job now flying an airplane and I'm simply trying to upgrade to a better job in a 121 world.

You're just not willing to do what it takes, and won't say what you will accept.

The thing is, what you're not saying speaks louder than what you do have to say.

Uh any 121 regional at this time. But none of them are now hiring 1600 hour first officers. I have said this repeatedly.

You've said this repeatedly, but it hasn't been true. Several are hiring. Apparently just not you.

Others have informed you of the same thing. You're not listening.

How do I get my app bit?

Yes because they are no longer hiring 1500 hour pilots.

You can keep saying this, and people can keep telling you that this isn't true, but no matter how many times you use it as an affirmation to explain away your inability to get hired, it still isn't true.

I just linked a thread in which you made these claims, which were immediately refuted by others.

Remember, simply because you're not getting hired, doesn't mean that the operators aren't hiring.

You've been challenged to identify what you will accept, but you won't do it. All you'll do is tell us what you won't accept. And repeat ad nauseum negative affiramations about who won't hire you.

You're the embodiment of a career martyr: Look at me, people; see my career die on the vine. Mourn for me. Weep for my inability to move forward. Of course, it's all your own making, and there are ways forward. You've shot them all down. The only logical conclusion here is that you want to be stymied in your progress. I this for the attention? To garner sympathy? To what end? Nobody owes you a career. If you want one, then you make the effort. It won't hurt a soul here if you atrophy where you are. It's all on you. You understand that, right?

You're not flying much. You're not upgrading. You have no future where you are...and yet your argument against going somewhere that will springboard you forward is that you can't afford the pay cut. You've been asked what you can afford, and you won't answer that, no matter how many times you're asked. How can one conclude anything but your desire to wallow where you are?

You are, after all, doing the same job as netjets, just not for the pay, but hey, at least you don't have to shave. So, you've got that going for you, which is nice.
