I have an interview with EK in April. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what, if any, profit sharing checks have been like.

Two years ago it was 10 weeks base pay. Last year it was 4 weeks base pay. This year's will be announced around the end of April. New joiners only qualify once they have worked one full fiscal year, which runs from April 1st to March 31st.

Thanks Typhoon, I'm looking forward to the interview. I bought the Emirates interview handbook. What other interview prep material do you recommend? How about for the tech quiz? Thanks again.

Ace the Technical Pilot Interview is good. I would know the 5 pillars of Islam and a little history of Dubai and the UAE.

Does EK require you to resign seniority at a previous employer and is there any training bond?

Where can one purchase the Emirates interview book?

I just finished my app today. They have made it quite known that the CRJ folks are not desired, but I filled out the app anyway, but has the anti-RJ mindset changed over there?

Also, what do the wives do over there in Dubai? Are they allowed to work? If so, what kind of work do they do?

Technically yes and yes. EK requires a letter of resignation from your current employer and a new F.O. must sign a 3 year bond for $36,000. Essentially what they are saying by this is that they want long term employees.

This answer four days ago from the new head of recruiting, "We will consider pilots with just RJ time."

Doctors, dentists, nurses, businesswomen, shop owners, translators, interpreters, flight attendant recruiters, and property leasing agents are among the ones I personally know.

Hey folks,
I am new in this forum.
Typhoonpilot I have one question for you.Is it correct that you started as a DEC at Emirates.I read a lot about DEC at EK in the pprune forum and I understand that most of the people there hate DEC.How was it there when you started. How did the people treat you there.I have been Invited for a
DEC Interview in April.
How was the training with EK.
Thanks a lot

Curious about upgrades (not quite to DEC mins) - is it purely seniority, or are there minimum time in grade, flight time and experience requirements?

Also any rumors of crew bases outside of the UAE?

Thumbs up JFK Domicile

Is there any prospect of Emirates establishing a New York domicile? At what frequency, and duration, could an EK DEF potentially fly to North America, and back to Dubai, during their days off?
