Available jobs overseas
Hey, can anyone tell me why I keep seeing posts for jobs in (mainly) India and China, they advertise daily, Good pay, benees etc.. Yes, ok
they are looking for Captains on a320 747 777 some just want 100 pic on type , an atp and a type rating. Yet at the same time I see where pilots who are clearly qualfied i.e. have 5,000 hours tt , a320 cl65 rating 1000 pic on the a320, atp, age 40, willing to go anywhere, say they cant find, get or buy a job... Whats going on ? Who is telling the truth ? The brokers surely dont get that many responses, if they did, why would they continuously post jobs looking for pilots ? I appreciate any info

Current and Qualified
They want guys who have flown the aircraft within the last 6 months, type-rated, with preferably 3 landings in the last 6 months. (Not an absolute, but most of the ads say this).
The "100 hours PIC" would be for say, a guy who is a 767 Capt with 15,000 hours and 6000 of it PIC on the 767, but trying for a 747 Capt slot where he has only 100 hours of 747 Capt time.

BTW, I was hired with no experience in the 737NG, and my last flight in a jet was an A319 eleven months earlier. I did have 9000 hours in other 737 types, but this was in early 2007. Times change!
Speaking of that, we had one or two fellows leave for home immediately Thursday morning for reasons that should be obvious. Like I say, it's not for everybody.
Agencies are still advertising for China, but I don't know that situation.
