The further deterioration of the USA; 30% ATC patcuts a few years ago for all new hires. WHY WOULD ANYONE.....?

The Local tracon has been begging me to apply, but said I can't until the notice is for street hires, go figure.

Called Ok City they said it would be not until June or July that a public announcement is posted. According to a couple of current controllers, last time they made hiring open to people off the street they received four thousand applications with a majority being non qualified.

Who was the President that fired these guys once?

just out of curiosity, that 17k/23k is paid during training which is about 12 weeks in OKC. Right? Thats not first year pay.

I don't think that's going to be the case, this market is outdated (technology) and very understaffed, I read an article last year saying about 65% of controllers will retired by 2016. Basically more are retiring than the FAA can hire and train.

Yeah I think its just what your paid in training plus a housing allowance if I remember correctly from when I had a friend go though. First year pay depends on where you go. Usually I think it's around 30K.
