The owner of that company has instructed them to find a current and qualified DA-2000 pilot for $40K-$60K. (fyi - SIC pay should be at least 80K and PIC pay 120K).

This would explain the persistent openings.

Why do these types of ads always have stupid job descriptions:

Obtains takeoff, flight, and landing instructions by maintaining contact with flight controllers.

* Flies to destination by following flight plan; monitoring flight operations; managing flight deck and cabin; resolving emergencies.
Really? Is that what happens? That's a little more than I was willing to jump aboard for

What about the important stuff... like the money?

That was what I was thinking...

I hope to not offend anyone, but could I ask what the average salary is for a 5 year experienced corporate pilot?

Thanks in advance

By the way... about how many hours and how long does it take to be promoted from co-pilot to a capitan?

Depends on what size Citation.

NBAA's 2009 Compensation Study shows that a Citation III/VI/VII, Excel/XLS, Sovereign or X Captain averages $98,204, while a pilot flying a 500/560 or 525-Series Citation averages $79,688.

The above numbers are based on national averages and are NOT type-specific, rather based on aircraft weight categories.

As far as being a captain...that is highly variable and depends entirely on each department's internal policies and insurance requirements.
