Some maintenance folks will be staying up there, but the flight inspection will be covered from either the Sacramento or OKC office.

UPDATE:

There is no EXTERNAL announcement planned for this hiring timeframe. :(

Only the INTERNAL announcement and the eligibility of all veterans for the EVHO (Expanded Veterans Hiring Opportunity).
Looks like they are looking inward - ATC'ers, FSDOs, Procedures folks, anyone who in the past has held an ASIP qualification (especially if you current within the last year)

I'm surprised by this as we have been told that all new hires would be going to KOKC initially, but there has been a changing of the upper/middle management lately so maybe this is a sign of the old plans adapting.

An EXTERNAL announcement for an ASIP position in Atlantic City.

Detailed requirements are in the announcement and further details in this thread; but I can entertain questions too if anyone wants more information.

How many days a year on the road now? BE300s & LR60s? Any other airframes? What's the "typical" progression from New Hire SIC to PIC?

pilotmec 08-02-2015 11:48 AM

Three CL601, one CL604 and two CL605's.
Lears are going to be phased out per the rumor mill.
King Airs are 300's being upgraded to Pro Line 21.
Can't tell you for sure progression time but 1 1/2-2 years is what I've been told.

Is anyone on the forum familiar with "Hangar 6" in DCA?

I was recently notified that I have been selected for an interview with the FAA in Arlington, VA. Honestly, I'm surprised I was selected. I applied in September and was "non-referred", only to find out this week that I've been referred and slated to interview.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If need be I can start a new thread. I figure this is the best place to start this discussion since it's the most relevant thread to FAA flying positions (AFAIK).

WOW!

That is old school.

Unfortunately for wasp - that brochure is about the Flight Inspection Program - not the Washington Flight Program (Hangar 6), though it does now fall under the direction of Flight Inspection Services (FIS)

They currently have 2 Leased Citations and an Older G4 (N1). The interview process is (was) identical to the gouge listed earlier in this thread with 3-part process- Panel questions, technical chart/AIM review, followed by flight in Citation.

Thanks for the updates!

I'm trying to focus my studies/prep. I've received the invite over the phone from OKC for an interview in 2 weeks at DCA. When I get the formal email, I'm planning on at least calling the office and trying to schedule a visit. I'd like to show my face and get to know some people at Hangar 6.

Is this flying for the Go Team?
