Whoa, Dave. Have a good coffee with a heavy dose of introspection before you go calling people desperate and uneducated. If needed, re-read your posts and possibly question your life choices. Some of your dribble is pure facepalm. I don't like to get personal, but how much kool-aid is enough?
Wow.

The first sentence of his post blatantly achieves exactly as I previously stated all by itself, and the remainder is no better.
Your “defense” is merely a pathetic irony in which you come on with yet a further attempt to blanket-diagnose a complete stranger. Thank you for reinforcing my original point.

You surely can use some fancy psych words there buckaroo! But I am afraid you are just using them to try and sully my image of which I don't care that you do. Every poster on here that asks a question, and every poster that may come to their defense is personally attacked but one point remains in common with all of those that are leading the campaign and/or spearhead an effort to discredit those with valid points; They avoid the topic of debate!

Here we go again
As happens from time to time on this thread, the ship is once again drifting from being a valuable resource for those seeking information into being instead a clone of Flightinfo.com. Civil, measured and honest discussion about Atlas Air devolves into rancor and spiteful name calling. It would be a large benefit to all if we could reverse this trend.
Man, this response is really out there! ....blanket diagnose (btw, how did you come to that?) ...pathetic irony.....

You are twisting my words. I dont defend the notion of calling someone an idiot, but I agree to the OP's point of it being unwise to not capture the match.
Sheesh, taking me to task. Really? And did you really have to shout? But as I have said earlier and in other threads, you are ignoring the topic which in this case is to contribute to a 401k to get the match being wise or not. Stay on point.

What IS your point exactly? Is it to attack me? I just meant to stay on point of the thread but you drifted into personally attacking me because you incorrectly assumed that I condone name calling. SOOOOOO, do you agree or disagree that to NOT contribute to a 401k with a match would be unwise?

There is no disputing whether or not you trust our negotiating committee. The question is and remains, "WERE YOU THERE?" during negotiations and heard first hand if Dietrich was "pressed to put it writing" or is it hearsay? The point here is that you are just as guilty as Dietrich supposedly is of not answering the question!!
Also, you can't say that new hires will be facing a credit card bill. You have ZERO insight to a new hires finances. You are projecting your opinion onto others to bolster your argument. It makes you sound desperate and uneducated. And once again you are throwing around baseless claims with "attrition reflects that" comment. You just can't help yourself can you? You have been poisoned by your own hysteria....you actually believe the BS you are eating and spewing.
Our contract shortcomings are not in dispute either. It is the ridiculously exaggerated comments that have become well overplayed in this political game that are in question. Get a new hammer.

1st... My sources are better than yours. Period.
2nd... No I wasn't personally there. I know several who were on a personal level. They are honest people who I've known for more than the 3 years and change that you've been here. I've known them when we were Baby Giants and were starting out as regular members on committees. Being an Atlas Pilot isn't new to me. This may blow your mind but things like Open Time came in onesies and twosies every month. A record year of hiring was 150 a year and it went down the next few years. We hired 0 pilots between January and Mid March one year. There was no ATAM. Nobody else was hiring.
3rd... You're correct. If Bill Gate's son works here he probably isn't living on a credit card. But for the average person making $6400 in 4 months (BEFORE taxes...) means that you need another source of income. Credit Card, Emergency Fund, Independently Wealthy Parents, a Spouse who makes a ton of money, a Single person living at home with Mom and Dad... Most fall into the first two. Most fall into the first from what I'm hearing out on the line.
4rth... Why are people leaving? We lost something like 220 in 2017. Why'd they leave if it wasn't Work Rules, Retirement, and Pay? Did they all win the lottery? Are they all starting at Short Stop for the Yankees? Maybe they've all started their own Pop bands...
Dave.... Instead of acting like you're some moderate beacon of truth understand that you're not plugged into the management side OR the union. I'm sure you've got some great info on how life on the line is as do I. There are MIA training instructors and union guys on here who do have some inside info. Contrary to what you're acting like it is very important that new hires know about the work rules, the retirement, the first year pay and the hostile tactics from management that the Negotiating Committee is experiencing. There are reasons to come to work at Atlas, but things are highly unlikely to be getting better here in the next year and that's what's said in public and private by both management and union leadership.

Your sources are better than mine?....what is that supposed to mean? Is that your swinging willie reference? Whatever dude. I don't care who you are or who you know. I'd tell flynn or kirchner each what I think about the state of things from a line pilots perspective. But anyway, if I am just an outsider who is not plugged into the company or the union, why are you and the others so afraid of my opinion that you and others are constantly attacking me personally and dodging the questions instead of engaging me or others that I have defended in the topic of debate? If I am just a normal line pilot then why are you all coming unglued when I propose a counter opinion. Most that are so firm in their convictions as you and others claim to be would just dismiss someone like me and what I was saying unless the questions that I have been asking have some merit.
I have a proposal for you. I hope that if you see me, and you know who I am because clearly your union sources are better than mine, that you make yourself known and debate me to which I doubt will ever happen because you are afraid of my opinion and of others too that don't beat the drum to your cadence. Or PM me or send a text....anything. Talk to me like a human instead of hiding behind the secret vail of APC. I propose that to ANY of the others here that want to come at me personally for nothing other than my differing political opinion. I'll say it again and again. I am against the personal childish attacks, the exaggerations, the rhetoric, the whoa is me attitude, the unsubstantiated claims, the hearsay and the same old failed arguments and political tactics.
If any of the posters here, that have engaged in personally attacking me and others here instead of answering honestly asked questions, TRULY believed that a counter opinion was harmful to our cause then they would have reached out to me and said in private for me to stop.
So far here are the results:
APC sissies that continue to engage in personal attacks against me and hide : Countless
Actual union representatives that have attempted to contact me to express concern about my opinion: ZERO
So Globetrotter, save your fake altruistic motives for the drum bangers and enjoy the FPL and the assessment while you still have it.
