That sounds about right.

Any word on if those of us who were unsuccessful in the interview (panel) will get another shot? I'm not holding my breath, but I am keeping my stuff updated.

Historically no. It may change this time around but it used to be you could fail the technical portion and come back for another interview after 12 months. However, the panel interview used to be an all or nothing deal. Keep yourself updated as you never know if they will change this.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I am keeping my stuff updated, but as I said, I'm not holding my breath. I understand DL's policy and I accept it.

Cinco De Mayo of Ocho Cinco (may 5 '08) to be exact.

For those asking about internal recs - I was invited to interview without having one last go-around. I did however, get one on file prior to the actual interview date. I was towards the end of the cycle, though - I would imagine that those with internals would be more likely to get calls first. As things open up, guys without one will have a better shot than they do now.

I believe the app is scored - so many points for total time, jet PIC, Advanced degrees, GPA's, internal recs, etc. I'm sure each "scorring collumn" is probably weighted too - so that say a masters degree doesn't give as many points as say 3000 jet PIC. But I believe it is total score that lands you the invite - and highest scores get invited first. So guys that have a ton Jet PIC, type ratings, Doctorates, 4.0 GPA's, and Line check experience could be getting an email now without an internal rec.

I again, I BELIEVE thats how it works. I don't have any inside info - just things that have been said in the past.

Can you check with your sources on this.

In my V-file, there was an article about us hiring .. blah blah. At the very end, it said that the hiring team will NOT accept resume or applications walk-ins or phone calls. Applicants will need to use the AirlineApps website and use your delta.com address for a recommendation.

To clarify, can we walk a resume in? Or should we just have them apply and submit a letter of recommendation through the website?

A few days ago, someone that I recommended was sent a letter asking him to update his work history/flying times.

We looked at his work history and he had a year gap (typo) between two military units. Also, his PIC and SIC did not add up along with his day/night total. He fixed it right away.

For the USAF guys, make sure your PIC and SIC add up to your day/night ... turbine ..etc. The computer must flag this.

Shortly after fixing his application, he was called for an interview.

3400TT military (some civilian)
3000 Heavy
2000 PIC

They apparently prefer to have the active pilots receive the LOR request at their Delta.com email, however it then directs them to a website form so not sure how they are tracking the delta.com email addy's. I have two internal recs from active pilots, one used their delta.com and the other did not. I have another two internal recs from Delta retired pilots, one being my father but not sure how they are getting weighted. I wish there was more of a process for immediate family member recommendations to get recognized. I'm hoping the affiliates section will help resolve this concern. Although I'm low on the competitive time average, I'm still hoping for a shot.
