Sounds like you have been in this industry for awhile so you must know that whenever a new hiring cycle starts the first people that get in are those who have some serious connections. It was that way last time around at both Delta and the former NWA and it will be that way this time around. Since you went into the pool some guys with great connections have become qualified and will get hired before anyone in the pool. After they get through those guys, then I'd expect them to give you a shot. I wouldn't hang it up yet and I would be careful with the attitude on this board because it isn't hard to figure out who is who here especially when you throw out your resume for everyone to see. Good luck and I am one who thinks that you along with everyone else in the pool should just be given class dates.

How do you know Delta is not going to do something for the NWA poolies?

By not making an announcement they can get by without offering those in the NWA pool an interview that dont meet DALs requirements and not risk a lawsuit. |
Be patient, the invitations have just recently started being sent. Relax and let the process unfold (unlike on the last thread, yup, I contributed to) whoopsy:rolleyes:. You may go from despair to panic mode as you prepare for the interview of your professional life;)
You have GOT to stay positive! Sounds hokey but its true. And if Delta doesn't call, life will go on and other doors will open, but you have to put yourself in a position to open them. I don't have much to go on anymore than a hunch, but it's all moving in a positive direction. I, as well as countless others know pilots in worse and better positions. Life? And please be careful what you post on these forums, image does matter a bit. Find that inner Zen master! Patience... |

Thanks for the support. Everything that could be said about the poolies has been said in that "one" thread. The horse has been atomized. It's done. I don't want Delta to give us interviews to go through the motion and satisfy some perceived obligation, legally or otherwise. Whatever. In the end they owe us nothing. Period. End of story.
If they call us for an interview, I want to know we have a shot, and that we just have to talk our way “out” of a job. But thanks anyway. |

I actually think it would be a travesty if Delta does not treat all the former poolies exactly the same. What ever they do for one they should do for all. That would be the only right thing to do.
we'll see |

Good advice. Actually, one of them is an FO in the 75/76ER. Is it you? If so, hello. Al |
NWApoolie,
Answer the question, exactly what has led you to believe that DAL doesn't want the poolies? Did you really think they would just put all of you in class? I was pullin for you guys, but come on! I knew all along the best you could hope for was an interview. Others have posted on here that poolies have received invites, just be patient. If you're qualified you will get an interview. Back off on the "delta ruined my career" crap. if you haven't learned by now, the aviation industry sucks sometimes. Believe me, there is always a guy out there who has had it worse than you could imagine. |
