Default Delta's hiring, who is next?

It seems as if the flood gates are starting to have a little water drip through, when will they burst?
With United and Continental merging - how many total furloughs are there and when does anyone see them being called back
American and US Air are the ones I know the least about, how many furloughs are left at each?

It seems to me like it might start in 2012 but around 2015 these guys might hire hundreds per month between them

United has 1473 on furlough.

Callback will depend on what happens with scope. If you are looking for majors to start hiring, the regional pilot groups need to work to significantly increase thier 70 and 90 seat pay. Until it becomes more economical to fly these aircraft at mainline don't expect much if any hiring. Otherwise enjoy you will likely enjoy a long career at the regionals.

CAL has 147 on the street. Theoretically, they recalled 15 people, but so far no one has actually received a call or has any clue when they're going to start training.

I'm 1772 from recall at AA. I think there are only about 350 below me.

And don't forget the hiring pool from 2001 at AA. I think there are over 200 hired in the pool but didn't start class back in 2001.....

when AA does start hiring again, it will be gangbusters in a big way. i believe that a 30 year old in the first class would be #1 on the list for at least 10 years. now when will that happen, who knows?

Allegiant will have to hire in the Fall. More MD's showing up in 2010-2011. We'll also have 6 75's that will open up spots on the MD..

Hi!

It sounds like FedEx will be the next to hire. Maybe also Alaska???

Oh, also EK and QR are hiring like mad, all of the rest of the ME is hiring, KAL, Vietnam and ALL the Chinese carriers are hiring (except DEFOs at Cathay). Hiring in Europe, Africa, and S. America

Here are the furlough #'s scrounged up from APC. If there are any errors/omissions feel free to correct/add. I couldn't find numbers for midwest or Lynx, so that would bring the total up. UPS is also projected furloughs, as not all 300 are on the street yet.

Hi!

From what I know:
ALL the Lynx guys are furloughed (along with Midwest), except some of them are back at Republic. They can come back to Republic now as FOs, and get a Republic seniority number, AND keep their MWA/Lynx/F9 # also: When the lists are merged, they can pick which of the 2 seniority numbers they want.

Legacy: (3645)
Alaska: 94
American: 1890 (I think this number may be increased somewhat, as AA absorbs the Eagle flow-ups...not sure about the numbers, and this is quite a complicated situation...)
CAL: 147...they have recalled some of these already, and rumours are to recall all before the merger is done.
United: 1437
US air: 224...rumours of recalls soon.

LCC: (222)
Frontier: 51
Spirit: 78...hopefully the TA will get settled soon so these guys can get recalled soon, and some hiring started.
Sun country: 26...Hopefully, the new flights to London will get some guys recalled.
USA 3000: 67
Midwest: ALL

Regional: (1584)
ASA: 94...they were all recalled last week.
Comair: 319....have been recalling
Expressjet: 265...have been recalling
Gulfstream: 28....yeah, Gulfstream
Horizon: 88....some new furloughs were just announced....
Island air: 10
Mesa: 405....just reading that they must shrink drastically to survive, so sounds like more furloughed, or all of the positions gone...this is one of the reasons of recalls elsewhere, like at ASA...
Mesaba: 159....guys flowing up to DAL, so that can only help....but they are losing their Saabs....a big mistake, I think!
Piedmont: 43
PSA: 40
TSA: 133

Cargo: (1083)
Abx: 332...I'm surprised it's not more! That DC-9 shutdown was brutal. They have first priority for hiring at fellow company places like ATI
Ameriflight: 11....I thought they were hiring???
Arrow: 30
Astar: 282
Kalitta: 36....all FOs have been recalled. Some PFEs still on furlough???? Hiring has already begun.
Tradewinds: 92....just read that they shutdown, so they are all looking for jobs.
UPS: 300

Fractional: (860)
Citation air: 64
flexjet: 85
flight options: 216
Netjets: 495

Other: (51)
Pennair: 15
Ryan: 36

LOTS of overseas hiring.

Good luck to all of you, ESPECIALLY if you are on furlough or laid off!

God Bless!
