[QUOTE=ERJ135;938951]When you get your books, memorize the limitations, EPC memory items. Start on the first night. After the first week, once those are committed to memory, work on profiles. Put the poster on the wall. Get it down flat. Following thoses three things will have you well prepared for the Oral and Sim. The ground school will teach you the systems you will need to know for the other half of the oral.
Well done, except I'm not sure how long ago you did this class. I have recently just got out of long term, and just finished with the sim. The new program with the CBT training at home really cuts down on ground school, and aircraft systems. The philosophy is you complete the CBT for five days before ground school, and you know the systems. Most of ground school is divided into FM1 stuff, a computer lab for the FMS, and CSI. A total of 12 days in class of which the last few days is like recurrent on the aircraft systems, and some oral review. Not like in days past where you had that extra five days in the class room to cover the material beyond the systems book.
So my suggestion is like yours, memory items, limitations down cold. Then finish that CBT asap, then dig in to the AOM2 hard, and well learn as much as you can on your own. The big thing for CA and FO on the oral is the cockpit safety scan and the final cockpit scan to be down. This is covered in CSI too.

ya take DFW for cost of living. So maybe go with ATR, that way more jets for me =) that way I can stay in NY.
I'm also starting GS on the 14th. 26 years old. What's the best base as far as cost of living goes? You guys have posted that maybe between 30 - 40 new hires will start on the 14th- thats awesome. I'm also open ears to equipment rumors and bases. Any rumors you guys know of?

DFW has ERJ and ATR pilot bases, so if you cant get a DFW base on the initial class Day 1 just try to get either the ATR or ERJ somewhere else. You can put in a base transfer and shouldnt have to spend too much time waiting.
Rumors are the lifeblood of the pilot group, we always have some good ones

Haha, no! I'm born and raised here, long before the Free State movement was a concept. Its a bit radical and heavy on the civil disobedience to really get anywhere in NH. The would have had a lot more luck in Vermont!

Where are you based and how would one commute from up that way?

Im currently JFK based, but will be MIA soon! I commute out of BOS, and there are lots of options BOS-JFK and BOS-LGA so it hasnt been too bad of a commute (but still, any commute blows and I highly recommend moving to a base if you can manage it). It is a 1hr drive to BOS from where I am in NH, and then the plane ride to NYC. With weather and delays it can be a loong day getting to/from work.
Haha ya Im just another guy flyin the line here and trying to help answer questions from the people thinking about Eagle. Im tryin to figure out what the Feb14 class will be. Im betting on lots of ORD FO CRJ and DFW FO ERJ with a few LGA FO CRJ. Smaller number of DFW/MIA FO ATR as well. I'll let you know if I find out anything more solid.
