Default Republic February 1 class

Just curious if anyone else on the site is heading to IND for the 2/1 S5 class?

Did they tell you how many are in the class or how many they are hiring? Just curious.

There are some captains switching certificates in the class. I think a few lynx pilots and a couple off the street. Just what I heard, I am sure someone has better info.

FWIW. We are super short. They changed the PBS system and the Jan. award was a nightmare for most so guys are just burning sick days. The company pulls some crap that makes nobody care anymore. I get called just about every day I am available to work, I don't but they still call. iflma is causing some problems when they try to run this place on a skeleton crew. The planning guy has be heard to say that he can not believe the FO attrition rate. Believe it or not other airlines don't care who you work for and our guys are getting hired.

My hunch the company is waiting to see what this SLI award says.(seniority list integration) They want to see how many Midwest people come back and I think there are some lynx pilots on the street. I believe all F9 pilots are back, which is again creating some problems because they need to staff the bus. There will be a **** storm if they hire off the street to do that.

If they really need you when they are hiring there is some wiggle room with what certificate you can work on. Basically HR gets a memo in the morning that says they need 30 on the CHQ side. So that's what they fill next. RW chief pilot said in recurrent they need to hire and it will be mostly onto the RW cert with few true upgrades which we took to mean they would be transferring capts from S5 or CHQ.

It all pays the same for the moment so I'd recommend you try to work where you live. They don't do stupid crap like ask you about molecules of air moving through engines on the RW cert and the memory items are few. The CHQ side, prepare for the exam, there a little first time airliner over there.

Hope it helps. PM me if you want, I'll try to answer.

Any idea what cert the next class (after Feb) is for? Been holding out for RW (bases) and to see how the SLI looks.

It's true. Their (scheduling) having a NIGHTMARE trying to make flights go out period not just on time. Only the lifers give a damn about this place. A lot of FO's just don't care anymore and if we don't feel like flying, we just call sick. In my base alone, there were 2-3 guys leaving for Southwest, a couple to Jetblue, Emirates ect. Management has work to do to correct moral around this place or it's gonna get ugly soon.

I would not hold out for a base.. You are most likely go to CMH, PIT, GSO, PHL than DEN.. They just had vacancies for DEN and it went very senior.. It will keep being like that for ever..
If you really want to work in DEN, apply to skywest..

Thanks, I understand that. While I'd love DEN, I know that its senior. I just want the base selection that the RW cert offers. Not interested in the other two.
