12 hours starting at 3am. hot reserve is covered by line pilots on 4 hour sits. its all 1.5 hour call out. no late reserves so they call you at 3 and put you back on rest for 10 hours then make you do a trip. basically its abuse.

reserves are being abused horribly and the contract gets walked all over, but it seems like mgmt realizes we're short, so the hiring begins...3 years too late

i realize a lot of guys would rather work than do nothing, but this place really sucks, maybe less than unemployment, but sucks still

couple it with the uncertainty regarding the sli and upgrades, base closures, etc. ...well, you get the point

I remember those days. The worse they ever tried to pull on me was similar to that. I responded by telling them my assignment had to commence within my reserve period. They then came back with putting me on rest for 10 hours, deadheading me from CMH to CVG and back to CMH to flying the trip. I did the deadhead, then called in fatigued. The chief pilot wasn't very understanding which made me hate the company. I ended up quitting shortly after that. Best move I ever made.

Every single one, apparently all former furloughs were offered spots

No hot or airport reserve. Generally your on for 12 hrs a day (3a to 3p) can be changed with 24 hrs notice per CBA. You have 90 minutes to report after call out and 11 days off a month. Can be 'on' for up to six days with two days off in between each stretch. The wife and I have chosen to live in base 1. to maintain some semblance (sp) of a marraige, and 2. to minimize exposure to scheduling shenanigans. Still get the occasional pairing where the company tries to sidestep the contract. ie giving you an assignment that begins outside your reserve period (happened twice in three yrs here.)

No Junior Manning and Management says "they don't need it".., we'll see when the new TA comes out.

As has been mentioned before, F/O attrition has been pretty bad (moving on and up, or moving out) so we are hurting. I get an OT call AT LEAST twice a week. Just not interested, my off time with my wife is worth far more than 35bucks and change an hr.

Over all, for a company that is still essentially run with a regional management mindset, Great folks to fly with though! Hope that helps.

Thanks! Did I see somewhere that the current contract (should management decide to follow it) has reserves staying out no longer than 4 consecutive days? Something about you have to come back to base on day four? So maybe a four day, a night home and then a two day? Or am I dreaming?

You can only be given 5 consecutive days but the 5th day must be one leg back to base. What they love to do is if you are on a 6 day stretch of rsv, they'll nail you with a 3 day backed up with a 2 day with the minimum required 10 hours rest in base between them. Those are brutal.

I heard that you have to sign 2 years contract ($15,000). Are they taking out this money from your paycheck ? Is this for real ?
