This... ^^

In the case of HAL, experience is the last thing they're looking for, a sort of bonus if you have it. Who you know, where you're from, and your gender are far more important. Sad thing is it's a great airline with a lot of great people working here.. Hope they don't F' it up with their hit and miss hiring process tho. I flew with several checkairman who scratch their heads at the people they're having to check out in the A330...

As for the "dude" with "skillz"... I wouldn't let you walk my dog, let alone fly my family on the back of your plane across the Pacific somewhere...

Wish all these airlines would do Sim Evaluations, sure would help find out who can actually fly. Get so discouraged by the double standards that HR has put into play.
" provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics. In addition to federal law requirements"
Yeah right!!!

If I recall, HAL has that desktop trainer that they make applicants fly to check their scan and basic instrument skills as well as CRM. In my opinion, it's way more sensitive and touchy than a simulator.

I think most airlines don't do a sim eval anymore because they are getting high time guys and gals who have been stagnated at their current jobs for 5 years and can most likely fly-a sim eval at this point is a waste of money. I also think these airlines are hiring a personality. Anybody can be taught to fly an ILS in training-nobody can be taught a different personality. Just my .02.

Hello there,

I am nearing completion of my four-year degree and need the help from one of you lucky HAL pilots. One of my assignments requires me to prepare for unexpected aspects of my "dream" job. To begin writing this paper, I need to ask a total of 12 questions to a professional who actually does what I want to do in the future. So, if you are currently working for Hawaiian and feel like you can help me with this please let me know. They are simple questions and shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes. Your name and job title are not required.

I used to fly the OGG based "Tsunamis" (Pacific Wings Caravans now gone from HI) and will hopefully be able to return to Hawaii sooner than later. Thank you!

Received both emails but I am wondering is there a way to update your application? Times?

In theory you can update your profile but I was told they don't check it unless you get selected from the original window screening.

Just curious...when HAL starts LAX to KOA flying, are the crews going to overnight in KOA or will DH to HNL to start (or end) your trip?

Boeing 737 Challenger Fails - The Boeing Company (NYSE:BA) - 24/7 Wall St.

Hey guys,

I'm hoping to work at HA in a few years. Is this news going to be a problem for the hopefuls? Peace.
