2017? I hope it happens sooner that that.

New vacancy bid came out yesterday. Few B767/717 displacements with possibly a couple upgrades... so maybe a couple new hires.

Those getting hired for the NEO expansion will be FO's for a long time (provided we are not bought, sold, merged)

Anyone on the list now "should" be either a junior NEO/717 Cpt, or senior widebody FO by 2020ish. With the next contractual pay increase it will be better to be an FO than it is currently.. $$$$ wise

Could be worse....

This is all assuming everything remains as scheduled:rolleyes:

With AA's contract just passed, is there any talk to at least match the average going forward and timeframe if any?

Can not speak for everyone.. But I think industry average is a minimum IMO... I don't necessarily expect to be the highest paid in the industry but definitely don't expect to be anywhere near the bottom either...

Time frame? Depends on some factors.. Have to take a look at how much leverage we have. Is there anything the company needs from us to fast track negotiations? ( I don't see much, we already gave them NEO rates below what they should have started at)

Will retro be involved? I certainly expect it to be.... That may help speed things up..

Thanks for insight. I've heard talks of +30% and working from there, hopefully they(mgmt) don't play too much hardball and you guys can get the contract you deserve. With all the majors now starting at ~$70/hr first year, I'd love to see that change sooner than later as well.

Just heard that HAL is hiring 6 more pilots.

LibertyPilot 04-26-2015 07:26 PM

Thread bump....any ideas as to future hiring at HAL?

I would guess that for all intents and purposes we are done hiring pilots until early/mid 2017. No more then maybe a very small class or two covering the 10-20 retirements. The gates *should* really open starting in 2017 as we go from the current 600 to 800-1000 pilots by 2022.
