What's the latest in regards to contract negotiations? I know they started only a couple months ago but I am curious if there are any rumors.

Pretty much all we hear is that they are happening.
With two months to go till the amendable date we shall see.

The consensus seems to be improvement in all areas with no givebacks, record profits and all. You know......just like the Delta TA.(sarcasm)

We get updates that detail where each section is at.. ( to the company, Union, or TA'd)

Seems right now the "easier" and " less critical sections" are getting done pretty quickly and without too much back and forth..

The juicy sections are still to be opened.. Then we will see how well negotiations will proceed..retirement just got discussed, not sure where it's at.. But from the latest update, not too much hardball from the company yet..

Everything seems civil and on schedule. Whether or not we make the amendable date.. Who knows... But only a handful of scheduled meetings left, so going beyond would not be a real surprise ( or necessarily a negative, just the way it is)

Unless things change, or something happens... Little hiring over the next 1.5 years ( give or take) maybe a few for retirements, which aren't more that 10-15 in 2016....1.5 years will come quickly though.

In my personal opinion, and from a personal POV, I am looking for increases in FO pay package.. Although upgrade for me may be as early as year 7 ... It may also be year 9-11... So something that pays a comfortable wage and allows me to do the things I want ( as far as investing, saving) in exchange for a few extra years as an FO is a must...

Unfortunately as bad as it sounds, first year pay has never crossed my mind as a negotiating point... The company/union may wish to adjust it to attract resumes, but I don't view it as anything I would consider in my vote.

Released today:

Class of 5 from the last hiring window will start in early October.

Pilot hiring window will open between Sept 4 and Sept 14 to hire ~30 pilots to be in class in early 2016.

We are in contract negotiations now. I don't know what the result will be, but as our MEC tells us, based on market conditions "if not now, when?" We are expecting a significant increase across the board (pay, work rules, retirement).

Good luck to all who apply.

Has anyone who applied heard anything yet from the application window that closed on September 14th?
