I got the email for Phase 3 today. They want me to be there on the morning of the 28th, yes in 2 days.

Wow, you are lucky. They gave you more notice than they have given other candidates.

Reserve is not always junior at Hawaiian the way it is at other carriers.

I looked at the PBS award, and I didn't see any reserve! Idk if it's normally in a different place or they're short, but I do know that you can bid 18 on, 12 off if you're on wide-body reserve (and get your 24 in 7 on the road). As for getting a string of days with a line, that is a matter of - PBS/seniority/current needs - magic. Ya know? Depends what people above you want, if there's reserve and how many, etc. They can put a destination that has been on the 767 on the Airbus next month and totally change the dynamic.

pretty sure the lack of reserve is cause they're short - and people are coming out of training, and maybe there was one or two senior reserves that I didn't see while scanning the award . . .

. . . but people definitely bid for stretches of days off and get it. Best way to get that off the bat though is to bid reserve I think. Hiring so many right now that it is changing drastically . . . all three types equally likely for new-hires.

PurpleCRJ,

What's your status with Hawaiian?
