Everybody's got a fair shot here. When the window opens get your app in. Like anywhere else internal recs are looked at first, but they will look at those without recs after they've looked at those with. And they have hired from both groups. As for the military guys....yes, they've hired a fair percentage there too. The big thing to remember is they look at the overall package. Each class seems to be composed of pilots from a variety of backgrounds. The common thread is that they're very nice people, and the company has had more than one opportunity to look at them to make reasonably certain of that.

Not sure how many they'll eventually hire later this year.....it could be as few as a dozen if the net increase in the fleet is only one aircraft, or it could be a few dozen if they keep some 767s.

Hopefully they keep some.... I know it's a small sample size, but every 767 West Coast flight I've done has had a 90%+ load factor this month...

And from an inner island perspective, it seems that those loads have been very high this month....Atleast that was what the last guys I jumpseated with told me..

I'd imagine the 76 fleet will be around for some time. 580-582 are owned and only 2001 builds. I see them as the last of the 76 fleet to go. I'd like to see the -EM fleet leave first.

I just received an email from HAL:

Thank you for taking the time to participate in our initial screening process for the position of First Officer at Hawaiian Airlines, (12-0604). We received many applications for this position.

In the course of our screening process your qualifications were thoroughly reviewed. At this time your application will remain under further consideration and we may contact you in the future for additional screening.

We sincerely appreciate your continued interest in Hawaiian Airlines.

Best Regards,
Human Resources

So maybe I'm in the pool for phase III? Good or Bad? Thoughts?

Good I think...I received the same one. It sounds like the other one sent out today was fairly clear about having to reapply. Not sure if this means a phase 3 prior to the next window but we're still in the running...good luck!

Hopefully they figured out how to inform the right people this time, don't hold your breath.

Absolutely unprofessional, but hey it's Hawaiian right?!
