AUTiger-first of all WAR EAGLE! Second, did they give you a seniority number when they placed you in the pool?

Nice one AUtiger. Let's all hope for mainline to cut back and have ASA fill in the the holes. Do you realize how bad that would be? We should all be supporting mainline in hopes that they fly more not less. It's called career progression. Things have been bad enough with the regionals already. Let's not hope to make things worse!

No seniority number given to poolies. The day you start work you get a number and start building seniority. In this biz seniority is everything.

Hey Flywife - what Octobersky says...no number for me. WAR EAGLE - lets hope for a good year.

OKaaaay Squall line...'Just trying to conjecture some something positive in a rather negative situation - it could happen. What do you think?
Clearly there is a critical interdependent relationship between mainline and regional - is there enough business for both considering airframes/routes? Just thinking.

Thanks for the responses (and yes, AU, fingers crossed for a good year!).

Quick question regarding "the pool." My husband interviewed back in May and was NOT sent the dreaded rejection email. Instead, the recruiter told him he needed more total hours (he only had 50 MEL and 690 total) and requested that he update his hours on Airline Apps and also email him the updates each week. He's been doing that, but still hasn't heard anything. Does that mean he's in "the pool?"

being in the pool would mean that a person has been given the offer and is waiting for the next scheduled class, or the next class that they are able to attend.

Sigh...guess we're back to the drawing board. I had heard that ASA was planning to lower their minimums to 50 MEL and 700 total, but could just be hearsay.

FlyWife,

Unless the Rejection letter has come, I'd hold on to hope and continue sending updates to ASA. They obviously don't want to count you guys out.

Thanks for the encouragement! No rejection letter yet, but we have a few friends who've gotten them.
