VX is a blight on the profession. The sooner is collapses, the better for the rest of us.

Hey Guys and Girls, Just got the interview invite to VX, very excited! Have gone through every thread on this board, and still can't figure out what I should wear to the interview.

Can some of the Virgin people please give me some direction.

Thanks in advance!!

Congrats! I applied too and not even sure how to check the status of my app. Any words of wisdom? Also, curious what your stats were (TT, PIC, internal recs, etc...), and how long ago you applied?

Thanks!

Supafly,

Sent in the online resume and questions via the Virgin website on Feb 6th, got the online assessment two days later, and then got the pilot questionaire two days after that. Then got the invite today, about a week later.

Thanks! That's about when I sent it in. But I got an online assessment immediately after. It contained a psych questionnaire and some pretty tricky timed puzzle problems. Is that the same one that you got two days later, or something else? It was kind of explained earlier in this thread but I'm still a little confused on it. Also, what were your numbers?

Thanks again. And good luck!

What to wear? Really?

Rode in a crew van once with a young, good looking kid who was a captain at XYZ. Explained that he interviewed and thought it went well and that he showed up looking sharp in a suit with open collar dress shirt ("very metro even though he's not" iirc). He seemed genuinely surprised that he wasn't hired.

Anyone who doesn't wear a coat and tie to an interview might as well not go.

A guy I worked with interviewed there and was hired. He wore business casual, as instructed, and not a suit.

Probably why Fish didn't get hired at VX.

It's business casual, so no tie! I wore dockers and a nice button down shirt. Some guys threw a sport coat over that. Congrats on the interview! Smile a lot and be yourself. Relax. Easier said than done, but the hard part is over with. Good luck!

That might have been the case years ago, but its not always the case. Tho, personally I think it should be. VX says biz casual and I know Atlas tells you not to wear a tie.

Also in the non-aviation world, my friend went to an interview for an IT job. He wasnt gonna wear a tie, possibly not even a suit. I told him to wear one, so he did. When he got back my friend said "F*&*& You, XXXX". He told me the interviewer (who was pretty high up in the company, possibly the VP) was wearing a Hawaiian shirt or something like that and commented on why my friend was so dressed up and was probably the best dressed guy in the building.

Times have changed, I remember wearing a suit to my job interview at Montgomery Wards years ago for a part time job.
