Go to Lakes (unless you get another 121 offer).

The pay sucks, but you will upgrade fairly quickly and will be flying for a major or legacy before a lot of your friends upgrade to the left seat. There is one reason to go to lakes; to get your 1000 turbine pic quickly and move on with life.

No, that's every other regional in the country.

Lakes is losing people constantly, and fast, and it's only going to get worse as other airlines begin hiring on a more serious level next year. If you have ATP mins or are near ATP mins, you could be sitting in the left seat at Lakes within a year.

Just did a checkride on an EMB Upgrade who's been here for 1.5 years. ISN based. Can't guarantee this will be the "norm" for the future but don't believe everything you hear.

Default Great lakes is a good option

I know a guy who flew at great lakes paid his dues in the right seat upgraded to the left seat. He enjoyed his time flying wise ( even though pay sucks ) then got an interview at Southwest, he has been there for five years and is living the dream!!! It depends on what you want though.

I dont understand why everyone is talking about 1000 turbine PIC and moving on.. I'm almost double that and can't find a position other than where i'm currently working to save my life.. And I have put out over 200 resumes in the past 3 years. Spotless background other than some financial issues due to the economy..

A cactus recruiter told me that TPIC in a 121 environment is preferred.

VA benefits, Scholarships, saving money, and the "escort" job all serve to assist in this venture.

Yes he paid for it on his own dime, so have thousands of other people. He wanted it bad enough and found a way.
