Sorry for the thread hijack, but since we are talking VA and classes:
We were told in the interview that the company manuals, docs and training material are mainly made for Windows viewing. And that tech support would be very difficult with a Mac.
Just curious if any VA pilots use Mac for company stuff? Any problems? Should someone who might be in a future class be looking at buying a Windows laptop? Steer clear of a Mac?
Thanks!

No iPads. I only use Mac products. Some stuff has flash so you can't use iPad/iPhone etc and you can't view the calendar in Crew Web (Explorer only). That's about it. Very minimal impact for Mac users. I do know the training department is working on making everything Mac friendly.

In the flight deck, we have an EFB installed in the plane for Jepps and company manuals (checklist and QRH also available in paper format). For training, I'd recommend bringing a Windows laptop to make your life easy. I was using a 10 year old Dell laptop (yes, it lasted 10 years) and so my timing was perfect for a new laptop.

Are you nuts!? You don't have 400 hours of ga/ppl time somewhere? I'd definitely do the conversion. It's really not a conversion either. They want the time from block out to block in. Figure it out for them.
