Alaska Hiring

JB is opening their window for a week on the very same day.
I wonder why it is that these companies only keep their application window open for a week. It's a database and doesn't take any (or many) man-hours to maintain. Why not just keep it open?
People could have all sorts of valid reasons why they don't or can't apply when the window is open. Maybe a family tragedy. Maybe a river rafting trip that cost $3,000 that has been planned for 4 years.
My point is, how is AS or B6 put out if they keep the window open for longer than a week? What are the reasons?

Hopefully someone has an update on the last few classes.
Or more current info ?
From the folks I talked to everyone gets ANC to start and then can to bid to LAX, PDX and SEA in that order probably never getting off reserve in any of them and FO Reserve in SEA is running at 5 years Plus.

Not really. Some newhires have gotten LAX right away but yes most go to ANC. I can't really say how long reserve lasts in the bases other than SEA but I know it's not forever as you say. SEA is the senior base now with LAX and PDX about even and then ANC.
