My post was implied to mean last hiring window, the February window. Additionally, I have a friend who already got a no thank you from that window.

Default Airlines Execs should be very nervous

AS is a top-notch airline. The current hiring criteria is 3,000 TT and they dropped the TPIC requirement and yet the only got 3,000 apps! Some of those who applied did not have 3,000 hours or an ATP. I heard JBLU only got 3,000 apps too! So much for those UAL war stories of getting 20,000 apps but that's was back when perhaps the mins were 350TT.

The group of 3,000 perhaps have their applications into Spirit, JBLU, Virgin, Atlas, etc.

The picture I am getting is there is not a large group of pilots out there looking for work.

As far as Alaska, yes there is a larger group of pilots available, but they're smokers....

I can believe that most of the applicants for Alaska have also applied at Airways, Atlas, Spirit, JetBlue, Virgin, United, et al.

What I think it's coming down to is who hires you first. Who gives the first class date.

Alaska would be an awesome company to work for, but the odds are long...

Good luck everyone!

Not sure how either had answered questionnaire by the way.
So, they are interviewing then. I'm assuming we all applied during the Feb window?

I think this is true to an extent, however I'd bet that more so than any other company, Alaska has more applicants that haven't applied elsewhere. I've personally talked to quite a few people that are interested in Alaska only, and would otherwise seek out corporate or something non airline.

True. More than any other companies, I'd guess that Alaska and Hawaiian are "geographically-based interest" companies, meaning most people that apply there have an interest in living in base and not commuting.

Exactly. However I'm counting on that reducing the number of qualified applicants! Haha

I applied in the Feb window. I have not received a phone call, nor a "no thank you" email, so I am still hopeful. I have 9000TT, 6500Turbine, 4500PIC Turbine, all 121 time, and a company check airman. Unfortunately, no internal recs. Anybody getting the call for an interview with similar times without recommendations?
