Default Mesa future hiring

Hi folks, this thread is mostly for any mesa pilot that has a good idea on your hiring. Based on info from this website, I have a few questions if anyone has the time. Do you have a time frame when HR is going to start making phone calls to bring people to PHX for interviews. Also, with it be stated that your 9 900's on there way, how many f/o's are you going to have to hire? Does mesa only hire low time people, I am one of many, I think that are out here with alot of time and experence, what are the chances these folks wil be called for a interview? I thank anyone that has a few minutes to reply, Everyone, have a great day!

How low of time are we talking. By August you must have 1500 hours. Why settle for Mesa when everyone else has the same minimums now? Unless you want to live in Phoenix.

Word is mesa is making those calls and hiring for classes April through July. figure 10 pilots per plane so it's a significant expansion for an airline with just under 600 pilots. The math for upgrade looks better than larger carriers.

+1... except for the live in Phoenix part, chances are (for now at least) you will be based in HI and living on food stamps. I'm curious what turns to on to Mesa..? It can't be the pay rates, contract that gets walked on, or unbearable upgrade time. Today's snapshot is that there are plenty of regionals hiring today that blow the doors off what Mesa can offer you. If anything this should be your last choice, read up!

Your math is wrong for a upgrade. Unless there is substantial growth. Like I said on many posts, most of the Captains are past or nearing 50. They make around 100,000 a year give or take and live in base. There is no reason for them to start over and risk a furlough at that age. Hiring off the street has started. A few were in the April 1st. class. Even with new growth it will take 5 years to hold Phoenix as an FO on reserve. But that could change with pilot attrition increasing. Come to Mesa for F.O. experience but don't plan on logging PIC any time soon.

If you're considering Mesa, you have neither alot of time nor experience

Unless 1500 hrs is the new high time pilot

Simple math really. Considering half Captains and half FO's, if they hire 150 pilots over six months, to meet expansion, you are half way to upgrade. 150 of 2300 pilots not as favorable. Of course, I didn't factor in the age of the Captains or how long it takes to get your domicile of choice.

So is every new hire being shipped to Hawaii now?
Do they have flight benefits still? With who?
Would Eagle be a better place?

The HI operation is very small, 30-35 pilots so once again the math spells the logic. I guess a new hire could be shipped to HI, but with the total number of openings exceeding the total number of HI pilots by a factor of 4, it would be a short trip.
