What's the RSV looking like? Upgrade?
I hear RSV in SEA is over a year. Ridiculous if you ask me! I think the FO's going to Alaska will create movement to the left seat. Probabaly 30-40 guys over a year period?

I heard a rumor that Horizon is going to take Lynx Q400's and give x amount of their deliveries to them next year? Anyone hear this who flies for QX?

That is absolutely not the case at all. Actually... Lynx has 'donated' two new sets of landing gear actuators (off our planes) to Horizon to help get their fleet in the air and resume ops.

We are not flying our two new aircraft much right now (reaching the end of phase 2 of pre-certification) - so our management donated the much needed parts and we can wait for the new replacements.

We have 4 aircraft to pick up from Bombardier in October - and still have several more thru Dec. We still retain all our 10 option aircraft as well.

Take care all.

Interesting, however it doesn't make any sense for Lynx to pay for airplanes to sit around doing nothing. With the FAA this could be 6+ months at the pace they do things. Hopefully it works out.

I'd say reserve in Seattle WAS a year. When I was hired, I had 3 or 4 classes of 15 behind me, most of them going into the Q400. I was only on reserve for one bid. Now I'm at a point where I can get a line(not a good one) but I can't get a good reserve line.

Let me emphisis: 70 new hires by April and 30 upgrades. I hope that management opens their eyes to the pilot shortage.

They will never open their eyes. Did you hear, the EFB's are coming.. Shouldn't that make more people want to work here...

Management will always think and it is probably true, but a there always 3 to 4 guys at other airlines that want to come here. With them just having 12 per class once in a while, they have met their hiring needs.

I have always been "for pilots." If we don't stick together then we can't accomplish anything. With that said, I think that some of the stuff that management does is good. The BS about them saying "we suck" for the bad 3rd quarter is pure crap. They do need to open their eyes and understand that the pilto shortage is going to effect QX. My buddy just got on with 53/950total. Don't worry everyone over at flt ops is still selling the kool aid about EFB's, I haven't had a sip. I will believe it when I see it.

I don't know what everyone has been hearing about the EFBs, but some newhires told me that the tech pilots are saying the RJ and Q200 are two years out for EFBs. Which means the Q2 will never see it. The Q4 is their only focus right now. Maybe because its in the hangar some much already it would be pretty easy to find time to install it.
