But we all got different reasons for staying. I came for 1) NW base close to family
2) Great people to work with
3) Good training program
4) To fly the Q400 ( yes I wanted to fly it! I have a love / hate relationship with her ) For all her faults we do a lot with her.
No regrets I got what I came for, I am happy except when I see my paycheck LOL
The industry has changed rapidly and there is a group of us here that are in a odd position. We are not to far from upgrading in the Q, provided they don't suspend upgrades again
like they did from June till Oct. Due to inability to attract new people.Do we leave for more money right now and maybe??? a quick upgrade some where else. May be that comes with a flow too??
Or do we ride it out get our Turbine PIC and bounce for a major?
So why trade one regional for another? I would rather step up vs sideways.
Everyone's got their reasons for staying or leaving. Gotta do what's best for you and all.
Our point is that now the regional industry pilot pay has changed so much that, many of the reasons people were coming will be over ridden by the dramatic pay differences and flow opportunities.
So why come here to be seat locked in the Q with crap schedules that will only get worse?
Just disappointed the in the approach they are using, as its not going to solve the problem.
And I can see it by the significant # of people under me disappearing from the seniority list some Mil guys going to majors, some new people saying F it I can get a jet and more money some where else.

For me suddenly getting double the pay, being able to hold a line after a month instead of waiting 1.5 years, and not having to constantly hear about union drama has been a step up, even if it was technically a lateral move.
