Just don’t talk about SLI

i hope we can all agree that the true adversary isn’t the fellow pilot…… it is management.

100%. It is okay to have an opinion on how the SLI should be. It is even okay to be unhappy with the SLI afterwards. But the unfamiliar pilot next to you had as much input in the whole merger process as you, and it is not okay to be angry at him. The JCBA is the step we have a vote on, and if it doesn't include the best of both contracts, and rates that reflect the CPI/inflation before comparing them with current legacy CBA rates it does not deserve a vote.

So the last "class drop" consisted of all super ridiculous high cost of living coastal bases? If the merger actually happens, I hope the arbitrator takes this into account with the fact that JB effective pay rates are probably half of what Spirit is bringing to the table. Add to that the fact that these bases are very undesirable for pilots. The quick upgrades in NYC/EWR and California bases at the legacy carriers is proof.

I think you just described ALPA merger policy to a T. Mike T. Well done.

Remind me, when did JB join ALPA? How many years as a non-union carrier and how many of those non-union pilot-years of longevity will you all be claiming against Spirit?

Paint with a broad brush much??
I love our bases. That’s a reason I’m here. I’d bet that’s why a lot of people are at JB, because we live on Long Island, or in NJ/PA/MA/NH/ME.
The bases aren’t for everyone, and if you don’t live in one of these places, I wouldn’t recommend JB, but if you’re already here, and like it, it’s living in base.
And “half”, really? Pennsylvania isn’t twice as expensive as LAS, FLL, ORD…
This isn’t a B6 vs NK reply, it’s just common sense. And I would happily welcome some NK bases into our mix.

Next tell us how NK puts more seats in each plane, so you are entitled to more seniority. Or how yellow planes are uglier, so NK pilots should get hazardous worker pay.

But I think you actually could be on to something, and I agree, pilots based in the Midwest in the JCBA should get a lower pay rate. Great idea!

Or... How about we treat each other with some respect, fight the real enemy for a GREAT JCBA, and abide by the expected ALPA merger policy?

Have to vote blue on this. Don't mind him, I might be disagreeable, but not to that extent...
