Sorry I was more talking the stats of those hired from the event...mil pilot vs non flyer vet, etc., as it relates to the “mostly for e dogs” discussion, since it seemed from my anecdotal experience it was more flyers than non flyers.

Ahhh, gotcha. I, too, have been under the impression that most were pilots.

Ummm I don’t think this is accurate. I’ve worked several VIB events and the majority of candidates I talked to were mil pilots. I don’t have the hiring stats of people hired from VIB, but of all the people I know hired thru VIB (which was a large number from my class, and a large number I’ve talked to), most were mil pilots. I also know plenty of mil pilots who have not attended VIB and haven’t gotten an interview, and plenty who have gone to VIB who also have not gotten an interview. Bottom line is being a mil pilot is no guarantee for an interview...if I were interested in JB and a mil pilot, I would try to go.
Also, fwiw, VIB is typically around Veterans Day and draws invites from whomever has indicated veteran status on the preceding application window. If you want to go, I recommend applying to every window. I know some people who applied to one window, thought they were good, but a subsequent window had opened and their app was purged (as they are every time a window opens). Perhaps hyper can chime in with those stats or further comments.
