I had the opportunity to go to United in 2013 as I was a poolie since early Feb 08. I chose to stay at JB because of the above stated reason, my friend at United told me “unless you like being furloughed don’t come to United”. Sometimes I wonder how things might be different if I had gone but I have never regretted staying as I still enjoy showing up to work at JB and getting paid well to do it. Yes, we need lots of improvements here at B6 but heY CBA 2.0 is right around the corner guys 😂😅😭😎

I don't personally know anyone who took recall at Airways or United. I have no doubt they exist, but nobody I've flown with took the recall to either airline.

Exactly. I had to make the decision at that time JB was the better choice then maybe not so much now but after all the years of furloughs at United the choice to stay at B6 seemed clear then.

Just like when a MLB player goes back to the minor leagues. At some point they end up back in the majors.

JB had a big spike in attrition back in 2015. That was due to many of the Delta furloughees returning (their 10 time limit was up).

2172 United furloughees did not have that 10 year option and were forced to make the decision to go back or resign in 2006-2008. If those 2172 had the 10 year option like they do now many more would have gone back, including myself.

I was hired at JB in 2013. Got hired by UAL in 2015. No regrets. If you guys are not happy..and only have 2-3 years at JB..i would say make the move.... I just finished my 4th year here and going to upgrade training on 320 next month.
good luck guys...

And if you went to United, you’d be doing the same, for a much higher pay rate. Junior captain at UAL is summer 2015 hire
