Overage days are declared in PBS during the bid, and can be seen on your results tab.
Basically, when a coverage day is declared, they disregard your bid for that day, and put you to work. Happened in March and April, completely disregarded what I bid for, and forced me into what the company wanted. To make matters worse, when the bids were released, the days I wanted off were green, as well as the days I was forced to work (mostly Fr-Mo).
If the company keeps this up, it will totally negate being able to bid 17 days in a row when 25.R goes into effect.

Let me rephrase that: they keep the reserve grid green (thereby denying weekend days off that I might have been able to hold) so senior guys who already had the chance to bid their best schedule in the first round, get a 2nd opportunity to fix their schedule (normally dropping weekend trips turning the RSV grid red long before it gets to me) before I do which cements my crappy RSV schedule forcing me to trans-con commute every week for 3 or 4 days of RSV over the weekends.
Last I checked, union dues was coming out of my paycheck as well. So that leaves me with this question: how senior do I have to get before ALPA cares about my QOL?
Before anyone says it: yes I’ve communicated all this to ALPA and have received no response.

The one ALPA guy that did respond to me claimed they had to keep the coverage green “so the 48-hour window has purpose”
