If somehow you know at 0 hours and 0 experience jetblue is where you want to be for the rest of your life, and if you have the money or get a loan (haven’t run the numbers to make an accurate assessment if a loan is a good deal so don’t quote me) it might make sense. Could pay to play, get a couple years at JB then move to a legacy. Not much different than going the regional route in that regard. But I don’t think I’d sign up myself or my kid up for that program.
They aren't locked in to JetBlue after doing all of the training and instructing, etc. It costs the pretty much the same amount that I paid (in 2000 dollars) to get my commercial, instrument, ME and CFI/II/MEI. If they can get into the program, go for it. It saves the step of having to go to a regional, and if they hate it here, they can go to either a regional or build a little time and start applying to other majors. Or, if they want to do the regional thing, they can do that too before even coming here. But honestly, why would they?

I get all of the "they didn't pay their dues" angst. I really do. But very few of us (likely none) would pass up on a similar deal if it had been offered in the 2000s.

Yes, there are cheaper ways to do it. I paid more to do mine quickly, and there are plenty who would do the same. That's the target demographic, I'm betting.

While I agree with what you say I know plenty of schools where you can get to CFI and work there building time and cost less than 60k. If my kids wanted to become pilots I wouldn’t pay for any cadet program therefore I would advice anyone to do it. I just don’t see how it’s faster or beneficial in any way to be honest.
