On my last 4 day I had no hotel scheduled 2 out of 3 overnights. I spent over 2 hours on hold trying to get it fixed. JetBlue pilots do everyone else's job while we get very little respect and authority from other crew members or management.

And that is a fatigue call waiting to happen and that 4 day becomes a two day...

People love use this line a lot on the forums but no one actually follows their advice. If I actually did this, I would probably call out fatigued twice a month. I certainly don't want the be "on the radar" of company that loves to fire people at a whim.

I call off fatigued if the situation calls for it. So I do follow that advice. Probably once every 3/4 months I call off. Every time it gets counted as company induced. It’s funny the next time the situation comes up the schedulers fix what caused the fatigue.

Seriously call fatigue ... better to loose your job than other unpleasant consequences! I am pretty sure in this particular case SWA will save ya for real!

Ha ha. All these "my airline is better than your airline" posts reminds me of the APC of old. Prior to 9/11, it was the same stuff. Then it all came to a screeching halt, and we were all in the same boat, on the streets begging for and fighting for those few coveted NJA positions.

Perspective people. It's all the same $hit. All that matters is what goes on in your own household. Save, stay married, and we'll all be retired someday with some a bit more than others.

YES. This. Read this and read it again. And Learflyer, can you copy and paste it on the same thread over on the SWA board?

This sums it all up. I have been following both of these threads and they are both dumb.
Live where you work or at least an easy commute with few exceptions. Everything else is up to fate and timing. Good luck.

Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Fatigue is federal law. You cannot get fired over it. Even if a fatigue committee concludes it wasn't the company's fault, it still cannot be used against you. Even the FAA can't use it against you. The FAA is constrained by the law, as is the company. If they did fire you, you would win in court even with My Cousin Vinny.

Now... an Irregularity Report or other similar internal company report, is NOT protected by law, so be careful what you write in those!

If you're fatigued, don't fly.
