I actually quit asking about it years ago because every time the answer is mco is next. 2008-2010 we gave planes away... but opened mco in winter of 2009 if memory serves. We’re lucky to be alive.... yadda yadda then things begin to turn around. Hiring. More planes. So? When do we expand mco? After Boston 20011 After sju 2012 After bos 2014 After jfk 2014 After dca 2015 After Boston 2016 After FLL2018 After Boston. 2019 But mco is next. |

I don't think he was referring to a base trade (which is a very low-success way to change bases), instead the normal bid process. A person may not want to move today, but in 2-3 months, a base change might fit their life better. As it stands now, they won't have a chance until next August. Oh well.

This annual bid sucks, we know it sucks, and I suspect the planners know it sucks. I expect at least 4 supplementals to keep things moving in the right direction. IMO, 6 bids a year would work much better than what we have now, and perhaps better than a quarterly bid. C. Supplemental System Bid Should an unforeseen change in the system schedule warrant a change in staffing, Crew Planning may post a Supplemental System Bid at any time. All Supplemental System Bids will close fourteen (14) days later at 1200 ET. The Company will publish the Bid Award and the associated training and transfer dates no later than twenty-one (21) days after bid closing. Such System Bid may contain multiple Bid Effective Dates but shall not have a Bid Effective Date more than twelve (12) months from the date of opening such System Bid. IMHO the Annual bid favors JetBlue and any supplemental bid favors the pilot. |

So here's another question for someone who might actually understand these numbers. Upgrade on last system bid went to someone with around 2.5yrs of seniority on the 190 at JFK. Seeing the reduction and negative numbers next to all 190 CAs on this published report, are we to assume that upgrade is going to stagnate? Or is the company going to continue to upgrade and keep upgrade times fairly junior? Also, what if something comes up and someone wants to simply bid out of a base in the future? They won't be able to do so for another year once this bid is submitted and closed?
I don't know how other companies do it, but this annual system bid non-sense is one thing I definitely didn't ask for or want in our CBA. I feel like a lot of people are going to end up being screwed over just due to basic mistakes/misunderstanding of the bid with no way to fix it once finalized. |

I see this becoming an issue. Say you take 190 ca on this bid because you missed 320ca by 5 numbers. Now you are trained and serving out your seat lock and along comes a supplemental bid where you would easily hold 320ca but someone junior to you gets it because you’re ineligible to bid for it. Any supplemental bid should have to wave seat/equipment locks.

Yeah but if you are awarded 190CA but it’s like a June class. If supplemental comes out in January 2020, does that junior guy now get that 320 seat you wanted, or can we rebid like we used to? This is going to be a mess

Do t hold me to it. Yes I agree it’s gonna be an epic disaster! Throw on top of this the SQ bases and fo’s Who bid from say the 190 to the bus then before bus training the 220 finish 220 and take first upgrade to the 190..... Or some mess like that. It’s gonna be special. |
Locks don’t start until your first day of home study.
