On-demand voice interview

I received an email for a voice interview in which I record answers to questions. Has anyone else done this yet? Any insights would be appreciated. Feel free to drop me a DM.

Cheers!

What date did you submit your application? I submitted 19 JUL. I heard they've gone away from the video interview to the voice now, but sorry, no idea how its conducted.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's all the same questions that have been on the video interview for years, but that JB is saving money by recording only voice, not video.

But you're one of the first I know of that is doing voice only. Please report back on the format of the call, as well as all the questions you are asked for future prospects. We appreciate you for it in advance!

What are the video screening questions? Are they posted somewhere? I will report back my experience.

swannert 08-24-2019 10:28 AM

When did you apply??? I'm still waiting. I applied in JUL

OversoldCommute 08-26-2019 09:06 AM

What kind of hours are guys getting the call with this time around? Is 3000 TT, 1500 turbine and 500 121 PIC with a Bachelor's in the realm of possibility?

Thanks in advance.

You more than qualify for JB or any major airline with those #s. I know guys with 0 TPIC and less than 200 TSIC who have been hired.

I've heard of a lot of Republic guys getting hired with just a couple hundred hours in the right seat, I dunno how accurate that is though. I know my lack of a 175 type doesn't help, but I don't know how much more time I realistically need to have any luck.

Accurate. And the type matters not. Guys who flew the CRJs get hired as well.

My stats are CRJ. Hope that doesn't hurt me in the interview process but I can understand those with a 170 type getting looked at nicer.

Not saying bias can't he found at the individual level of any interviewer, but there are many former CRJ drivers here, as well as former 145 pilots.

The JB way is taught during training, prior types matter not, I believe. Very easy training overall.

FWIW I came from corporate as did two others in my smaller class. Not one of us had prior 121 let alone an E170/190 type. I wouldn’t worry about that at all.

I think that’s what they’re doing instead of the video interview. Figured they got tired of watching videos of peeps with jackets and boxers

Thanks

I submitted mine a day or two after the last window opened, so the first couple days of July.

swannert 09-03-2019 02:20 PM

Cool, I applied on 19 July so hopefully I'll be getting an e-mail soon.

Good Luck

fastforward 09-03-2019 05:43 PM

5000 TT, 3500 Hrs at a 121, 1200 TPIC, one failure on my CFI first attempt. Two masters degrees and zero phone calls from any LCC. What gives?

It was my 8th, but to be fair I had probably 100 turbine SIC when I applied the first time.

tcco94 09-05-2019 07:11 AM

Submitted my phone interview Aug 9th... Got FHA form Sept 3rd and interview invite Sept 5th....for those wondering

swannert 09-05-2019 08:34 AM

I'm still waiting on an e-mail invite. Hopefully soon.

Does anybody have the link for the video interview screen questions? I searched.

I just completed the interview. Heres my tip. Make sure no one is at home when you do this. I went into the computer/office room and told my wife and kids to not interrupt me during this. So I'm half way through question 1 and all of a sudden the printer starts up next to me making noise and my in laws come into the house right outside the closed office door. My wife decided to send something to the air printer and the dog is whining because the in laws came over. I rush out to tell them be quiet and ask my wife why are you printing. I tried to pause it but couldn't. Next question was starting up and I was flustered. I'm sure I'll get the TBNT email.

That sucks. I hope you got to hit the important points and move on to F2F.

Nope. The most important and lengthy one. Review your resume.

Jumpseatcrawler 09-10-2019 07:55 AM

Got the email to submit a Virtual Phone interview Friday 6th, I just completed it and will now patiently wait. I heard if they like it you usually get the F2F invite in as short of 3 days to 1 month. If anyone is on the same boat and gets an invite for a F2F, would you mind posting so we can know if they are working on our batch?

Best of luck everyone!

Did my phone interview Sep 3. Don't feel I did great but also don't think I did terrible. Will let you know when I hear something.

FWIW, a friend of a friend just got the call for a F2F about 5 weeks after doing the phone (or was it still video then?) screen.

75brown 09-14-2019 10:55 AM

Were the questions pretty close to the video interview ones? Do you remember what the new questions were?

Soreloser 09-17-2019 10:57 AM

update?

Migz, do you have an update as to what questions were asked? Was it the same 8 questions posted in that other thread that were previously used in the video interview? thanks

Were the virtual phone screen questions the same 8 questions asked in that other thread..ie: self resume review, any checkride or trining failures, any accidents or incidents, Jetblue 5 core values...etc..

thanks

75brown 09-20-2019 02:17 PM

5 Flight hours last 12 months
6 Training failures
7 Accidents or Incidents
8 What appeals for a career with JetBlue

Voice interview

Hi all who have done the voice interview.
On my last question I was interrupted by a cough and the recording stopped. The automation said thank you, etc etc. and hung up.
Not good I’m thinking.

The exact thing happened to me. I was able to do two phone interviews, Sort of. The first interview the system hung up after asking the first question. I called back and it went right to the second question. I never was able to answer the first, but I answered the remaining questions. The second time I answered the first and then was asked the second and before I got a chance to answer I was cut off with thank you for applying to Jb etc.. I think it’s some kind of glitch in the system.

My questions exactly in that order.

Kforekyle 10-08-2019 12:40 PM

Has anyone heard back yet from any of the phone interviews. Good or bad. Did mine on 9/17. So far no word.
