"Let’s Talk Phase II:
For those eager to complete Phase II and progress into our Pilot Pool, take heart. Phase II is comprised of a background check, a review of PRIA records, pre-employment testing, and a final decision made by our pilot hiring committee. Our hiring committee is comprised of some of our top pilots in leadership who carefully examine the entire file of all candidates who progress to Phase II before they come to a unanimous decision to be moved forward. It is a process that is incredibly thorough, embodies our five core values, and a process we are proud of. The combination of all these processes can take some time. Do not lose hope or enthusiasm, as we will soon begin filling our First Officers classes for November and look to hire approximately 15 First Officers for the month and 40 for our initial training class in December.
JetBlue Pool Status:
As of today—October 14th —we have a more than 65 pilots in the JetBlue Pilot Pool. Most candidates are from several different interview dates and those who have deferred their class date due to military/other commitments. Our October training classes are filled and candidates who interviewed in May and June 2019 and who cleared Phase II are near the top of the pool right now. We will be working on filling our November classes in the next 2 weeks. For those that interviewed in early July, we are aiming for a class date before the close of the year. For those that interviewed afterwards, our best estimate is a class date in January or February 2020."
