I agree, but I’ll also say that anyone who doesn’t want to sit in a crashpad for a month could have and should have bid for a VIL. I think it went junior enough in every seat for May to accommodate those who wanted it.

very true. I plan on bidding rsv this month so others don’t have to.

True. But 50hrs first yr pay rate can't cut it yet for some who are fresh outta regional pay. I'm planning on VILing for June and July after saving enough in April/May to make it on 50hrs pay June and July. Its a flip flop.

There’s the gray area of guys that were junior line holders (my situation). Bidding the VIL is a gamble. If it goes senior you hold a line. If it goes junior you potentially go to SCR. So guys that were not sitting in a Crashpad may now be solely because of the behavior of others. It’s the game I get it. 31 years flying. I’m not worried about the CP per se. it’s the ability to get food and supplies given the nature of Queens in general.

Concentrated pockets of ethnically similar multi-generational families illegally cohabitating within insufficient square footage. You can’t legally jam grandma or renters in the attic simply by installing drywall. So it’s carry out from the kid that sneezed on my food or jam six inches from someone else in the neighborhood bodega. There’s no good solution. The ethically questionable solution for me is if a fever pops I’m getting out of Dodge ASAP. A Queen’s hospital or field hospital? No thanks. Taking temp twice a day at work.

Lastly, if things REALLY go south I’ve got a license to carry in TX. A shotgun. A rifle. Handguns. I can shoot. My wife can shoot. The kids can shoot. NYC? A maglite? I presume the sickness peak will decline in May. I was declined a VIL in April. They asked for 15 and awarded 5.

NY is forecast to peak around April 9. Texas, about a month later.

Well the commute has really fallen apart. AA cancels at least half the flights to NYC from DFW and Spirit won’t go to NY or NJ. Delta stopped JFK and flies only 1 afternoon flight to LGA. There’s a stay at home order in Dallas and Ft. Worth but the grocery stores and Lowe’s/Home Depot are packed. See lots of Grandma buying flowers. I needed fencing materials to repair wind damage to keep the animals in so I went at 7a.

I didn't infer that they were, just an observation. I agree that the playing field should always be level.

And to come fill circle, this is why SCR will go junior. OOP calls with commute issues.

Well, when your second 3 day pairing is modified 4 times in 30 hours, opening up a 2 day gap between your back to back three days, leaving you two full days in a Crashpad in NYC, You bug out with the intent of commuting back. Especially when your first leg is a late DH JFK BOS. But when your self to BOS is still not addressed 18 hours later, and you can’t get to JFK because the flights to NYC cancelled, but you could have gotten to BOS but now it’s too late, you just take the OOP and let the company figure it out. Trying to be, “understanding” but there are logistical issues effecting commuters. One of them being an unwillingness to spend more time than necessary in NYC.

Would long call be better for those not wanting to fly?
