only for the crossing. .839 once off the tracks if you were ahead of the pack inbound coming home. All about being close to first in line for Customs at IAD. Sucks if you were after the FRA, MUC, LHR, CDG etc 777’s.

LOL ... yeah ... in the Triple with a GHS of .86 after an .84 sweet spot on the crossing it sucked getting behind anything else.

Now do the comparison ... a new MAX +paid for 767 taking a customer from FLL-LHR vs a paid for 320 + new LR taking someone from FLL-LHR.

Not exactly an accurate comparison. While the 767 might be paid for the 737Max that UAL just bought for the FLL-EWR run probably costs within the ballpark of JB’s 321LR, while JB has a paid for A320 doing their FLL-BOS flight.

there are too many variables for CASM to say one is better then the other because of how each airline might allocate cost across segments. Yes the Airbus will have lower trip costs, but the 767 will also have a higher revenue potential (more premium seats and cargo). So which one will be more profitable? Time will tell.

except UAL is not trying to get someone from FLL to LHR via BOS. That’s what EWR and IAD or even ORD are for. And plenty of “old” airframes the same vintage as JetBlue fly those routes too. BOS is primarily for the local BOS market.

Something tells me that for the near term the 321LR is a great plane. JB doesn’t need to hit a home run with it, as long as it makes money they’re good. JB can make money flying 320s around domestically as well.
*If JB really thought flying 767s around was worth it, I think they could find a desert full of them for cheap.

Yeah I get it Captain obvious that FLL-BOS-LHR isn’t UAL’s thing. Throw in EWR. The point remains that all airlines are buying planes, where they put them doesnt have to match up exactly with the competition.
