Why would there be 3 months between training date and effective date? Surely transition/upgrade training does not take that long…

Long course: home study plus roughly 5 week footprint, wait 1-4 weeks for OE, come up short by 4 minutes on OE for your 25 hours, wait another week to get scheduled for that one leg, maybe wait on a fed ride. Could be easy to hit 3 months. Especially with as many training events as there will be and how backed up OE will likely get. But, sooner you finish, sooner you get paid.

I would assume you just have to be trained by then. Not ready that exact day lol

That’s what I assume…so realistically one could be done training and officially in seat weeks before effective date.

What if one doesn’t finish training by effective date? Does the pay still convert?

They can send you to training up to 120 days before the effective date and you are paid the greater of rates if you go past your effective date "if it is not fault of his own".

There’s probably close to a hundred pilots that need to be trained in a given effective date. They need to space them out in some manner.
