Are we able to get reimbursed if we purchase shoes or uniform shirts outside of the JB Uniform shop? If so..how?

Nope.

You can, however, have alterations and tailoring reimbursed.

And, unless you are morbidly obese, you will need to have your uniforms altered. Save your receipts!

Our uniforms look awful if you are not in athletic shape. Can’t say the same for other airlines’ uniforms.

First, the uniforms are made cheaply in China or Bangladesh or some other BFE country. Second, HPI is one of the worst vendors when it comes to Uniforms. Nothing ever in stock, slow shipping, bad customer service. They don't even know the difference between CA and FO wings. Waiting over 6 months for new uniform shirts, almost a year for new pants. It's a joke. They want us to wear that crap, then so be it.

But the ties are high quality. You can usually get a trip or two in before they start falling apart.

If my uniform looks like crap I really don’t care cause I’m not spending my money to fix the crappy uniform the company picked out.

Fortunately you don't have to spend your own money because your uniform allowance can be used for uniform tailoring.

No one outside the company knows the uniform situation at JB. I don't know the uniform situation at Delta, AA, etc, but when I see one of their pilots clearly lacking any self-respect looking sloppy with an ill-fitting uniform I am embarrassed for them and for the profession.

JB isn't a regional airline. Having a regional airline mentality doesn't bode well for contract gains in the future.
