What surviving entity? This is not a merger…it’s an acquisition. They would just have to buy stock in JetBlue in two years whenever they finally get a payout and purchase (lucky them) the JetBlue stock at whatever price it is at that time. Which may not even result in them making anything at all once all is said and done.

Spirit management basing their post-merger economic forecasts on ZERO labor cost increases for FIVE years is like a stupidity test for investors and employees.

Can they move the vote up to next week so we can stop discussing this?

not entirely true. The pay out is after all the regulatory process concludes which could be way down the road. If they gave you the $30 immediately then deal falls apart in 18 months, do they come get the $30 back from you? When the deal is finalized by the regulators and they give its blessing, then a date is set and the payout happens. Both BOD of directors have admitted a Lawsuit is a certainty… pushing that date out to to sometime in the future.

It certainly won’t take two years. If they we combining to form a larger carrier than maybe. Not these two.

So it’s not immediately like everyone on here wants to act like.
We all know what way JetBlue guys in here posting are leaning. So it really doesn’t matter what any person with an outside perspective has. You will argue to the death.
Even though I don’t have a real interest…kinda rooting for Frontier here for no other reason that it will be hilarious to see the screaming and tantrums that will be no doubt thrown.

and also they will have a date of record for shareholders. If you held stock at this ‘date’ you’ll eventually receive the $30. If not, when the AIP is announced then anyone could go buy spirit stock at $19 knowing they’ll get $30 (if deal is finalized).

Wish there was a like button. Cause last time I checked - 24 months is 2 years.
