JetBlue bids for Spirit Airlines

Let's START with the fact that Spirit has been planning this for the last couple of years, without ever soliciting a competing purchase bid from any other airlines. In the case of M&A, the board is required to seek the best return for the shareholders, how can it be known if a higher value/price can't be found elsewhere if you never sought any other proposals, and if Robin is to be believed, refused to discuss the details of the bid?

Cornering the ULCC market, that track record. I'm not jumping for joy, I actually wanted the B6 merger to go through but my seniority would have taken a bigger hit. I believe B6 has a great product but I also don't think they can compete and win against the Major 4 airlines without someone as large as we were.
I just hate that it's Frontier, I mean the horror stories are real, I actually talked to a guy getting investigated because he commuter claused to work, and he actually got to base 1 hour late. They refused to pay him, what kind of bs is that?

I feel like JetBlue got a real kickstart post 9/11 when all the Legacies were furloughing as part of the lost decade. Just because JetBlue has thrived in the past two decades, doesn’t necessarily mean the next two will go as well. Especially with an ever increasing pilot shortage and a management team that can’t seem get out of their own way. I’ve got a lot riding on this, so obviously hoping for the best.

With such diametrically opposed offers, either a lot more cash now, or maybe, possibly, could be, might be, maybe someday, the F9 offer might increase in value to maybe possibly meet or exceed the B6 offer, years from now, maybe... With that disparity in offers, NK management should be putting these offers up for a choice vote with shareholders.
If they aren't willing to do that, not willing to hear other serious offers for the company, one must ask themselves why not? The answer becomes more clear when you do that mental exercise.

We desperately need some vision in LSC, and pretty much a full C-suite replacement. They are failing, and wasting the great potential of this company.
