Thanks.

I'll add a bit to what Todd replied:

There is a BOS FO that wants to go out to LAX...good news
Email CrewPlanning to get yourself on the monthly base trade list
You can view the list of pilots that have requested to transfer on the Crew Planning portion of HelloJetBlue. This page is updated throughout the early part of the month , prior to the award, so you can see if you're on the list. Update your request monthly (if you're not awarded a transfer)
Don't know where you live or want to commute to, but make sure you list JFK/BOS/FLL to increase your odds of getting an east coast base.

Good luck. And since it's System Bid season, update that bid too (might happen faster than a "monthly base trade"

Or you can be awarded your base trade on the annual system bid for the December 2023 effective date and be locked for good in LAX for well over a year…

So be aware of that.

Back to the original question - does anyone know how long to hold a line at LAX?

14 years, wow! Sounds like LAX is pretty senior on the CA side.
Can you drop reserve days at B6?

it is very senior, don’t come to JB expecting massive LAX growth. I do think we will see some LAX growth, but there’s a long way to go before junior CA is close to what it is elsewhere in the system.

you can drop 1 RSV day unpaid if the reserve staffing allows it (can be tricky). You can also drop additional days if you use PTO time, but again that’s depending on staffing and very difficult

Just note you need to complete OE and be released from the training department to be eligible to request a base trade.
If you do get a trade, that becomes your new base. You do not need to trade every month.

Glad to hear that there is some flexibility with dropping reserve days. At NK there is none. We get 12/13 days off a months and that’s it.

Thanks Flyby, appreciate you answering my questions!
