B6 or NK?

CJO with NK with a class date in about a month. Waiting to hear from B6, with a possible CJO, If successful, any advice on which one I should take? TIA

The first class, always. And leave if you get something better.

Totally agree. However, it's looking like the class dates will be the same week, or within a week of each other. Given that choice, which would you take? Both great companies.

Based on what metric? A 17+ year B6 CA, former chief pilot and former management guy, just left B6 for UA. I’m sure things were just peachy for him to give up that kind of seniority and longevity.

If you live in a common base, JetBlue, no doubt

You will be integrated DOH on either airline with the merge, so the seniority will be the same. So the question is do you want to spend the next 2 years on the NK pay scale or the JetBlue pay scale? Its not like NK will give you a better upgrade opportunity. So if the bases are the same, take the guaranteed higher pay at JetBlue while we work towards a JCBA in a few years.

If the merger falls apart, id rather be at JBlu anyways

Well If you get JB, and base is not an issue, JB over NK. You will end up there most likely anyway.....

Regarding similar bases, is it possible to get MCO out of training at JB? And what are the average trips lengths there?

I would say 2 to 3 years for MCO FO. FLL FO within the first year. Might be sooner.

As an NK guy I'd tell you to take B6 as well assuming you're not deciding between BOS or LAS.

Given your desire to be based in MCO I would say you would likely get there more quickly with NK, however your pay scale in the nearer future will be higher with B6. All of that being said...Seniority is everything.
