Big pay cut first year, by his math he will catch up in 8-9 years, maybe sooner depending on contract cycles, then be above where he’d be at B6 after that for his last 5 years.

Thats a huge gamble predicated on ‘what if’s’. Reserve at United is better than a 17 year Captian bid here? Come on now. There’s so many moving parts associate with this decision that could abruptly change….it’s hard to even quantify. I get the driving to work part though.

Given their current and planned hiring rate (I was told today by someone in their training center that 400 a month is the new goal, maybe a UAL passerby here can confirm/deny), and given their WB to NB ratio along with multiple base options, and their retirements, if you live near a junior base there, it’s not really a huge gamble. They likely aren’t going anywhere (too big to fail). They are currently making more money than B6 as a company. They are hiring more and retiring more. They don’t have a merger on the horizon. They are likely to get a new (and better) contract before B6. Etc. I don’t see it as a huge downside risk for someone within driving distance to IAD to be honest. NB movement (and WB movement for that matter) appears to be happening at unprecedented rates.

Who cares, good luck to him. The majority of the pilot group moves up a number and he gets to start over somewhere that he sees as a better move or fit.

CJO with NK with a class date in about a month. Waiting to hear from B6, with a possible CJO, If successful, any advice on which one I should take? TIA

Let’s see, both fly the same type airplane but one pays up to 40% less than the other… umm 🤔 decisions…

When does (or did) the snapshot get taken on seniority? Did it start when the NK BOD recommended the deal? Or when the stockholders actually take a vote?

Hi. How much are reserve FOs used in both JFK and FLL in the 320?

JFK - everyday (yeah I'm a little salty for being used and breaking guarantee for several months in a row, but you get the idea)
FLL - One or 2 reserve blocks a month

Ok he “retired” and then went to United. If that makes you feel better than he quit and went to United.

Pairings ARE our QOL. The way the pairings have been degrading terribly lately I don't blame anyone for leaving.

If you are thinking of coming to JB, just know the pairings/trips are as bad as any I've ever seen before. If you will be a commuter, like half the airline, good luck with that.

And they wonder why sick calls are up...

What is getting worse about the pairings? Lower credit? More red eyes? Long airport sits with short overnights?
