I believe there are 2 days off meetings scheduled for next week, with another meeting scheduled for January.
Up until last week or so, communications from both sides seemed to indicate that they were pretty far apart. To the point where the union was considering a labor dispute prior to reaching the scheduled January meeting. Last week or so, they held a short meeting, where the rhetoric was gone. Leading some to believe that we are getting closer to a real proposal. I guess we'll know by the end of next week. I'm just hoping the Spirit AIP doesn't water things down for us. I hate to say it but if you guys don’t have something good by the time our vote closes jan 10th there is a chance this steaming pile gets voted in. We have a lot of “this is spirit” attitude from seasoned veterans that have no idea the current market nor have they ever, and a lot “of we’ll get ‘em next time” from the newer guys |

Just my opinion but even if yall do vote that in, you’ll get another bite at the apple for the impending JCBA down the road…. I know (they’ll be lynched if they do) our MEC would never put your AIP up for a vote to us. We are expecting way better or don’t bother-we’d rather go with the labor dispute and wait it out for what we deserve.
Imo the JCBA needs to be for all 8,000 of us to get an industry LEADING contract on PAY, RETIREMENT, SCOPE, and WORK RULES. It should not be to drag the spirit pilots up from whatever you want to call this pile of crap we have on the table now. We need pay parity now so we can focus on all the other stuff in the JCBA |

this week (Feb 13-14th). I do think we are getting close to an agreement. The reps say this this last negotiation session felt different( more serious). The company bought the MEC off their trips on the 13-14th (union request). The union’s position was that they wanted everyone off so that they could vote ASAP of an agreement is reached.
the union has also stated, if we do not get an AIP on the 13th-14th meeting we will be in a contract dispute. But I'm ready for this labor dispute. The floor is Delta AIP Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk |

I believe you mean December 13th and 14th. So tomorrow and Wednesday. If nothing is done by then, we will declare a labor dispute. Christmas shall be fun lol

Spirit mgmt current can't utilize their aircraft how they'd like due to staffing, which is why they are at the table. Use that leverage. NK folks, I hope you vote it down and get something better. Then we can all meet at the JCBA table and improve even more. I hate this "We'll get'em next time," thought. When will it truly be "next time"? Every time there is a TA to be voted on, we get this "next time" mantra in every pilot group. How about this time? If at anytime you (generally speaking) have to use those terms when a TA is out for vote, you are acknowledging that there is more on the table and you are choosing to leave it there in the hopes of "next time". Get that ***t now and move on. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk |

I’ll pay $30/month for the chance of gaining even 1% in the SLI. Want to make sure our merger committee has all the tools and resources they need.

If you keep voting yes to "We'll get'em next time!" enough, eventually it evolves into "Well we are Airline X, we never make what the other carriers do." Its a self fulfilling prophecy. Reading many in the Spirit forums mental gymnastics to justify a yes vote I think we are boned once they merge our lists. They value themselves very little. Honestly Jetblue pilots do too. |
